Casa Artista was built by a German stone mason in 1872. It is a very old and well preserved home. Please take a moment to stop and think about where you are standing and the significance of this home. Please consider the age of the home and be kind to the walls, floors and stone finishes.
Everything in the home is original and could never be replaced. Each stone of the house was hand cut and individually put into place. You will notice that each window is a slightly different size because the windows were cut to fit the stone. The long leaf pine floors are were hand milled and cut into planks. The walls are not stucco but hog hair ground up with limestone and made into a paste. This was placed on a linen lath and once it hardened, the walls became ridged.
The bedrooms walls tend the shed because they are living stone. This is not the sign of a dusty house but only the walls showing their age.

The fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need to prepare and enjoy your favorite dishes, plus both a Keurig and French press to suit every coffee lover’s morning routine. The adjacent dining area—surrounded by art and light—makes gathering a true pleasure. There's laundry on-site for your convenience during longer stays.
Casa Artista comfortably hosts up to six guests, offering a restful retreat infused with artistic flair. The primary bedroom features a luxurious king bed, while the second bedroom includes a cozy queen bed surrounded by vibrant and creative touches. In the open living area, a queen-size sleeper sofa provides added flexibility for families or friends. Each space is thoughtfully designed to inspire relaxation and spark joy.
